My daughters and I had an opportunity to visit the studio of a very talented glass craftsman who lives and works just outside of Chicago.  His name is James Wilbat and I have collected his pieces for years.  I finally got a chance to see Jim in action and to discover how fine art glass is created.

Here are a few pictures of our visit where Jim made a glass bottle, a jellyfish in honor of our trip (and Jim’s family’s trip (by coincidence)) to the Shedd Aquarium and what we originally thought was going to be a vase, but turned out to be a large bowl.  It was a very interesting visit and a great way to spend the day in Chicago.  Thanks to Jim and his assistant Itamar Amrany.  To see Jim’s work, go to www.wilbatglass.com
